For the month of June, I am reading two books. One is titled Pursuit of the Holy by Corey Russell. My church is doing a study on this book which has opened many of our eyes to the revelation that we, as a church body today, really don't know who God is. As a result of our studying, I will be posting my own personal reflections on each chapter. Talk about getting "up close and personal."

The other book I am reading for pleasure is titled Engaging the Soul of Youth Culture. My friend Emmanuel recommended that I read it, not knowing about my initial apprehensions in doing so (I think it was the title of the book that threw me off a little). However, in reading the first three chapters, my eyes and ears are definitely open to improving my spiritual outlook on youth in and out of the church today. I may or may not blog my thoughts on this book; I don't want to say something and not do it. All I can say is... if you are a parent, youth worker, pastor, or Christian educator, you MUST read this book for yourself.
With that said, my first personal post for the foreword, introduction and first chapter of Pursuit of the Holy follows.
