A Noteworthy Teacher

We've been having this ANT problem at home. Let me explain...

One morning, as I was walking upstairs, I looked up and noticed a moving black line of dots from the staircase window, down the wall of the lower flight of stairs, across the bottom of the hardwood floor, into the living room closet. From where and to where were these little dots going? To a little ball of what appeared to be candy (so unrecognizable at this point). I couldn't believe the powerful communication that took place that brought about HUNDREDS (so serious) of ants to a little piece of candy... IN A CLOSET!!!

I decided to take a lesson from these little creatures. Obviously, one or just a few of them had to have discovered this "gold mine" in our closet. Then, as yeast in dough, these few ants naturally communicated with their family members, friends, and neighbors, "HEY!!! PARTY AT THE LENNON'S HOUSE!!!" (sensory directions included). And lo and behold, you get a two way traffic lane covering about 108 feet. Learning moment continued, I began to wonder...

What if Christians were like these ants in communicating the "gold mine" of Jesus Christ? Many of us have discovered the "gold mine" for ourselves but 1) have been selfish and not told anyone, 2) have miscommunicated directions to the gold mine, leading others astray (like the dots traveling unparallel to the two-way traffic lane), or 3) just haven't used the natural ways of communication (our entire body) given to us to spread the Word (*smile*). Just imagine if we did! There would be multiple lanes created in the spiritual realm around the world of people coming to Christ, getting to know Him and learn from Him only to return to their own homes and share what they've found with others! AMAZING!!!

Thankfully, we will have a better outcome in this aspect than those precious ants in my house. As I told my family, "These ants are out of order; they are not abiding in the domain in which they were created for. They are being disobedient, and that is why they are going to die." (Yes, I said it because it's true! God-given dominion, people. And no, don't explode this to my meaning bears and deer too. Geez, these are ants. *All ant-lovers need not respond.*)

Then again, there may be consequences if we DON'T abide in the Spirit as God commanded us to and ARE disobedient to the things we are told to do. It may not be death, but there will be consequences.

Wow. God's ways of communication are so limitless. Just look around you...
